From Interiors to Outdoor
Your home doesn’t end at your front door, and neither should great design. I was recently inspired to undertake a qualification in Garden Design for this exact reason. Following my recent Distinction from the British Academy of Garden Design, I now offer bespoke garden and outdoor space design to complement my interior design services. This means you can enjoy a fully integrated approach where inside and outside flow together seamlessly.
A little story: I’ll never forget working on a home where the interiors were warm, inviting, and full of personality – but when you stepped outside, the garden felt forgotten. A few lonely pots, a patchy lawn, and not much else. The family confessed that they rarely used the space, even in summer, because it felt drab, and unconnected to the home. You could go so far as to say that they almost seemed embarrassed by it, despite (or even because of?) the fact that their home was absolutely gorgeous. It was this project that convinced me how important it is for interiors and gardens to speak the same language. A thoughtfully designed outdoor area can become the most-loved “room” of the house, whether it’s for entertaining, a precious moment of solitude, or simply watching your children play.
